Relocation is one of the few genuinely affordable routes into homeownership left. That is why a good part of our work is with whānau, trusts and iwi organisations rather than with developers.

Papakāinga
What papakāinga means in practice
Papakāinga is housing built on whenua Māori, for whānau who whakapapa to that land. For a lot of whānau it is the only affordable path to a home of their own, because the land is already theirs.
Relocation fits that well. A sound existing house costs a fraction of a new build and arrives in weeks rather than a year. We handle the move and the foundations, and we work with the trust or the whānau on the sequencing so the consent, the site work and the house all line up.
We also support whānau relocating a single home back to the whenua, which is a smaller job but often a more significant one.
Sustainability
The case against demolition
A building can be up to 100% recycled by moving it. Everything already built into it, the timber, the joinery, the roof, the labour, stays in use instead of going to landfill and being manufactured again somewhere else.
Most of the older houses we move are framed in native timber that simply is not available now. Demolishing one to build new is the more wasteful option in every sense.
